MANASLU CIRCUIT TREK

The Manaslu circuit trek is an adventurous journey in the Manaslu region of Nepal. The trek follows around the magnificent Mt. Manaslu which is the world’s 8th highest peak along with Budhi Gandaki, to cooler alpine hills, arctic zone of ice and glaciers, and the enchanting forest of Rhododendron, oak, pine, and birch. This exciting well-planned trek circuits the beautiful scenery of high green hills, snow-capped peaks of the Manaslu region, and cultural villages with their fascinating traditions. The Abundant wildlife of the Manaslu region is one of the important parts of the journey. On the acclimatization day enjoy the interesting colorful customs and monastery of the Sama Gaun. To trek into the thrilling Manaslu region of Nepal, the months from March to May and October to November are known as the best season for trekking. Most of the trail is in good condition so no technical skills are required for circuit trek.

DETAIL ITINERARY

Day 1: Drive from Kathmandu to Soti Khola (700m)

Our journey starts with the scenic drive to Soti Khola. It will be a seven hours long bus or jeep drive passing beautiful landscapes until we reach Arughat. From Arughat we will have a local bus ride to Soti Khola. 

Day 2: Trek to Machha Khola from Soti Khola (869m)

Today our trek starts following the Budhi Gandaki River. The trail leads through the shady sal forest along a rugged cliffside. We will now drop down to the Gurung village of Labubesi following the riverbank until we reach Machha Khola. 

Day 3: Trek to Jagat (1340m)

After having a delicious breakfast our trek continues through the larger Guung village of Khorla Besi, Tatopani, Dovan, Thulo Dunga, and finally the cultural village of Jagat. In Jagat, you can see the Tibetan Buddhist Culture. 

Day 4: Trek from Jagat to Deng (1860m)

After having a splendid night in Jagat now our trail begins with a rocky ridge climb. Our trail continues through a huge terraced field of potato, maize, and millet. We will now reach the bamboo forest and finally in the village Deng. 

Day 5: Trek from Deng to Namrung (2630m)

After having a delicious breakfast our trail continues through waving in and out canyons and various mani walls. As we pass the beautiful forests of oaks, pine, and rhododendrons the settlement of Namrung will be in front of us. 

Day 6: Trek from Namrung to Sama Gaun (3520m)

Our trails continue from Namrung with a steady climb into the alpine from where stunning glimpses of Mount Manaslu can be seen. We continue the walk through the village of Sho, Lho, and Shyla until we reach Sama Gaun. 

Day 7: Acclimatization day in Sama Gaun

Today we will have rest to be physically acclimatized with the altitude. Spend the day exploring Birendra Lake, Monasteries, Samagaun, and visit Pun Gyen Gompa or Manaslu Base Camp. 

Day 8: Trek to Samdo (3860m)

After having breakfast we will have a short trek through the land of yaks, plentiful marmots, and pastures. Our trail will be a pleasant walk above the tree line that brings us to the picturesque village Samdo. 

Day 9: Trek from Samdo to Larke rest home (4460m)

Today our trail continues through a Budi Gandaki river passing a wide, broad path and many mani walls. We will ascend over the Larkya Glacier from where a huge gorge view will be offered by nature. After reaching Larke rest home we will spend the night.

Day 10: Trek to Bimthang (3750m) via Larke Pass (5160m)

After having delicious breakfast we will have a 5 hours long trek until we reach Larke Pass. From Larke Pass, enjoy the stunning mountain views of Himlung, Cheo, Gyaji Kung, and many more. Now we will descend to Bimthang where we will have our overnight stay.

Day 11: Trek from Bimthang to Dharapani (1963m)

Today our trail follows the beautiful rhododendron and pine forests along the glacial stream. As we descend following the Dudh Koshi our trail continues through beautiful agricultural landscapes. Finally, after crossing the village of Goa and Tilje we will reach today’s destination Dharapani. 

Day 12: Drive to Besisahar – Kathmandu

On the last of the journey, we will have a scenic drive to Besisahar and connect to Kathmandu. This would be a long driving day until we reach Kathmandu. After reaching Kathmandu our representative will transfer you to Hotel..
