EVEREST BASE CAMP TREK

Everest Base Camp trek is one of the most popular trekking destinations in the world. The journey is once in a lifetime experience that leads you to the foot of the mighty Everest. The routes of the journey are also known as “the steps to heaven”. Every trail in the trek bends with another photo opportunity as it passes through various beautiful forests, glacial moraines, Sherpa villages, and foothills. The journey starts from the ancient city Kathmandu and leads you through many suspension bridges, old and hidden Buddhist monasteries, warm sherpa cultures, and finally at the base of Mt. Everest. Along the journey, you will encounter the various mighty peaks of the Khumbu region like Cho Oyu, Lhotse, Makalu, Nuptse, and many more. The trek also includes climbing Kala Patthar from where you can admire the 360-degree panoramic views of snow-capped peaks. You will pass through the UNESCO world heritage listed Sagarmatha National Park. However, the park gives you the beauty of dramatic mountains, glaciers, and deep valleys. Endangered species of animals like snow leopard and red panda can be encountered. Along with the beauty of rhododendron forests, terraced rice fields, and hardened landscapes of the Khumbu region.

DETAIL ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu

Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, one of our representatives will transfer you to the hotel. Enjoy an evening at the tourist hub of Nepal Thamel in its bars, restaurants, shops, and Nepali handcrafted products. Meet your guide and ask any questions about the EBC trek. Overnight at the Hotel.

Day 2: Kathmandu to Lukla(Flight) to Phakding

Early morning depart to Tribhuvan International Airport for your flight. It will be a thrilling and adventurous 35 minutes flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. The flight passes through various valleys and marvelous mountain ranges. Meet the representatives at Lukla and begin the trek to Phakding. Overnight at Phakding.

Day 3: Phakding to Namche Bazaar

After having the delicate breakfast at Phakding our trek begins. The trail leads through various suspension bridges over the Dudh Koshi and Bhote Koshi rivers. The rising of Thamserku can be seen as we reach the entrance of Sagarmatha National Park. Overnight at the Namche Bazaar.

Day 4: Acclimatization day in Namche Bazaar

Today is a day to rest, relax and acclimatize at Namche Bazaar. The key to acclimatize is to adjust our bodies to the high and extreme altitudes. Have a few hour hikes around the Khumjung village, visit the school set by Sir Edmund Hillary. Enjoy the beautiful vistas of the Everest region.

Day 5: Namche Bazaar to Tengboche

Today our trails lead to Tengboche from Namche. The trails pass through various villages with marvelous views of the mountains like Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Nuptse, and Everest. After reaching Tengboche, visit the Monastery and bakeries in the afternoon. Overnight at Tengboche.

Day 6: Tengboche to Dingboche

The day starts by ringing walking yaks bells and being surrounded by mountain vistas. Today our scenic trail will be quite challenging. Our trail leads through beautiful Imja Khola and reaches the picturesque farming village Dingboche. 

Day 7: Acclimatization day in Dingboche

Today is another and last acclimatization day in the journey. We will have a short hike to encounter the marvelous beauty of three mighty peaks Makalu, Cho Oyu, and Lhotse. After enjoying some time, we will descend back to Dingboche for lunch.

Day 8: Dingboche to Lobuche

After having a scrumptious breakfast our adventurous trek starts. The trail gifts trekkers with stunning beauties of mountains like; Cholatse, Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Nuptse, and Mt. Everest. The trail leads along the edge to Dughla town and finally Lobuche.

Day 9: Lobuche to Gorakshep (hike to kala patthar)

Today is one of the most adventurous days of the journey as we are hiking up to Kala Patthar. After reaching Kala Patthar, enjoy the 360-degree snow-capped mountain beauty of the Khumbu region and return back to Gorak Shep.

Day 10: Gorak Shep to Pheriche (Morning hike to EBC)

After waking up early in the morning we will start our trek towards Everest Base Camp. The trek will be 3-4 hours long from Gorak Shep and the trail passes through different narrow mountain gaps, and glacial moraine. Overnight at Pheriche.

Day 11: Pheriche to Namche Bazaar

Today our trail descends back to Namche Bazaar from Pheriche. The day will be full of walking as we drop down to Orso, Somare, and Pangboche through the west bank of Imja River. Enjoy the victory of completing your journey at Namche Bazaar.

Day 12: Namche Bazaar to Lukla

After having a delicate breakfast at Namche Bazaar we will start our last hike of the journey towards Lukla. Today our trail passes through various suspension bridges over Dudh Koshi River and a steep descent route passing Phakding. Overnight at the lodge in Lukla.

Day 13: Flight back from Lukla to Kathmandu

After having early morning breakfast we will have our flight back to Kathmandu saying goodbye to Mt. Everest and Khumbu region. Enjoy the day in Kathmandu by visiting UNESCO-listed world heritage sites, shopping in thamel, or relaxing at the rooftop cafes of thamel.

Day 14: Departure

 After breakfast, you will be transferred back to the Tribhuvan International Airport by our representatives in time for your onward flight.
