The Khopra Danda Trek, also known as the Khopra Ridge Trek, is a spectacular off-the-beaten-path adventure in Nepal’s Annapurna region. This peaceful trek takes you through lush rhododendron forests, traditional Gurung and Magar villages, alpine meadows, and dramatic Himalayan landscapes while avoiding the crowds of Nepal’s more popular trekking routes.
The highlight of the Khopra Danda Trek is Khopra Ridge at 3,660 meters, offering breathtaking close-up views of Annapurna South, Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, Hiunchuli, and Machhapuchhre (Fishtail). For adventurous trekkers, an optional hike to the sacred Khayer Lake at approximately 4,660 meters adds an unforgettable high-altitude experience.
The journey also passes through scenic destinations including Ghandruk, Tadapani, Dobato, Muldai Viewpoint, Chistibung, Swanta, Ghorepani, and Poon Hill. Along the way, trekkers experience beautiful forests, mountain villages, local traditions, and the warm hospitality of the Himalayan communities.
With its combination of spectacular mountain views, peaceful trails, rich local culture, diverse landscapes, and community-based lodges, the Khopra Danda Trek is an excellent choice for travelers seeking an authentic and less-crowded Himalayan trekking experience in Nepal.

During the Khopra Danda Trek, you will stay in comfortable local teahouses and community lodges. The facilities are simple but clean and welcoming. The higher parts of the trek, especially around Khopra Ridge, are more remote, giving you a true mountain experience.
You can enjoy a variety of meals during the trek, including traditional Nepali food and popular trekking meals. Dal Bhat is one of the most popular meals for trekking because it provides plenty of energy for walking.

The best time for the Khopra Danda Trek is during spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November), when the weather is stable, trails are generally dry, skies are clear, and Himalayan views are spectacular. Spring adds colorful rhododendron blooms, while autumn offers excellent visibility and comfortable trekking conditions.
Winter (December to February) brings colder temperatures and possible snowfall at higher elevations, while monsoon (June to August) can bring rain, slippery trails, and reduced mountain visibility. However, the landscapes are lush and green during the monsoon season.
